Man found guilty of murder for the shooting death of Alton Kelly

A man was found guilty of shooting and killing another man near a popular Colorado Springs park back in April.
On Thursday, Deandre Smith was found guilty of first-degree murder. Alton Kelly, 25, was found dead on April 12 just west of Memorial Park.
He was sentenced Thursday afternoon to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The defense said they are already planning their appeal process.
After the shooting happened, a man claiming to be the victim's brother said he and another sibling found Kelly sprawled outside a home early that morning.
"Around 2:30, 3 O'clock I came here and found my brother laying on the ground, deceased," Noel King said. "Was shot in the back of his head."
Officers swarmed the area of East Vermijo and Institute after getting the call.
King said his brother was just 24 and the father of two little girls.
"He will be missed," he told 11 News. "Just want justice for my brother."
