Woman accused of giving baby meth-contaminated formula

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB/Gray News) — A Florida woman has been charged with child neglect after deputies say baby formula given to a child was contaminated with methamphetamine.

According to Alachua County authorities, Jalyn Brownworth, 32, prepared the formula with water, which she had previously used to clean off needles.

The child was brought to the hospital, where staff confirmed the baby had been exposed to meth. Officials described the child’s condition as stable and recovering

Brownworth was booked into the Alachua County Jail on the charge of child neglect. Her bond was set at $20,000.
