Victim identified from deadly crash at North Union Boulevard and Research Parkway
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The victim in a deadly traffic crash has been identified as 74-year-old Lana Arbogast, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).
Officers were dispatched on June 29 at 10:02 a.m. to the intersection of North Union Boulevard and Research Parkway regarding a two-vehicle traffic crash.
Police said the driver of a Hyundai SUI was eastbound on Research Parkway, preparing to make a left turn to travel north on North Union Boulevard. The driver of an Audi Q7 was westbound on Research Parkway with a green light.
As the Hyundai was making the left turn on a flashing yellow turn arrow, police said the front of the Audi collided with the passenger side of the Hyundai.
Members of the Colorado Springs Fire Department and AMR were providing medical aid to Arbogast, the driver of a Hyundai, when officers arrived on the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
CSPD was notified on Friday that Arbogast had been pronounced dead at the hospital.
There have been no charges in this case as the investigation is still ongoing, police said.
According to police, this is the 21st traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year. At this same time last year, there were 30 traffic fatalities in Colorado Springs. In the past 365 days, there have been 39 traffic fatalities in Colorado Springs.
