Man charged with arson after small grass fire in Boulder County

BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A man was arrested Thursday evening after a small grass fire, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded at 7:30 p.m. to a small grass fire near the 45-mile marker of US Highway 36 in unincorporated Boulder County. The grass fire was between the highway and the Saddlebrooke at Rock Creek complex.
Deputies and fire personnel from Mountain View Fire Rescue arrived and found a small grass fire approximately .25 acre in size. The fire was contained and extinguished.
Deputies say they found a transient encampment nearby and identified a possible suspect who was in the ditch. It is believed that the fire was caused by a cigarette and originated at the encampment.
Deputies arrested 37-year-old Alexander Seide and booked him into the Boulder County Jail on one count of fourth-degree arson.
