Firefighters work to protect structures from the Hayden Pass Fire

11 News brings you a first-hand look at the intense effort firefighters are making to protect structures from the Hayden Pass Fire.
11 News reporter Jessica Leicht was taken inside the evacuation area to Cutty's RV Resort near Coaldale. It was one of the first campgrounds evacuated after the fire blew up, and it's a spot where firefighters have worked hard to protect structures.
Ground crews have been working at Cutty's as well as all of the evacuated subdivisions to do structure protection, including cutting back brush and trees, cleaning out gutters, and putting sprinkler systems, sometimes with large water tanks, in place to help protect homes and other buildings.
Jay Esperance/Incident commander: "Structure protection is completed in cutty, and going on to Hayden Creek, Fox Creek, and all the way over through almost to Eagle Creek.
In the meantime, other fire crews continue to create new fire lines while ground and air crews work on putting out the flames in places where officials are worried it could spread into populated areas.
