Former NASCAR driver’s charity motorcycle ride making pit stop in Colorado Springs as part of 30th anniversary route
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Former NASCAR driver Kyle Petty will be making a pit stop in Colorado Springs as part of the route for the 30th Anniversary of the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America (KPCRAA).
The ride raises money for Victory Junction, a camp founded by Petty in 2004 in honor of his late son Adam. According to KPCRAA, Victory Junction provides camp experiences for children “of all levels of abilities who are living with complex medical conditions” at no cost to them and their families.
The ride has been raising money for the camp and other children’s charities since it started in 1995, and according to KPCRAA, has raised more than $23 million since then.
This year, the ride will take place from May 1-9 and will go from Sonoma, California to Charlotte, North Carolina. The ride will make an overnight stop in Colorado Springs on May 3 at the Doubletree on East Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard, near Lake Avenue and I-25, where members of the community can meet with the riders.
