Fifth batch of UFO files released contains CIA notes, artistic renderings
(Gray News) - The Department of War released its fifth batch of unidentified anomalous phenomena sightings, also referred to as UAP or UFO sightings.
The newest release of files happened on Aug. 7. Contained within the batch are scanned copies of memos from the 1950s, an artistic interpretation of a reported UAP in Afghanistan in 2002, CIA notes from the 1960s, and more.
One upload included an artistic interpretation of a sighting reported by a former Department of War employee in 2023.

The department began releasing the files on May 8 under the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE) initiative.
The materials were intended to be released on a rolling basis as files are reviewed and declassified, according to the department.
