Local El Paso County schools offering free meals to children throughout the summer

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A few local school districts are offering free meals for children across El Paso County throughout the summer.

In addition to District 11 offering free meals for any children, no matter what school district they are in, District 2 and District 49 are also offering free meals.

District 11 is offering its summer food service program from May 27 through July 31. The specific dates and locations are found by clicking the link here.

Through District 2’s federally funded summer meal program, District 2’s students 18 and younger have access to free, nutritious meals served onsite at their designated locations beginning June 1. Those times and locations are found by clicking the link here.

District 49 is offering breakfast and lunch service this summer, beginning June 1. District 49 said the service is available for all children regardless of which school they attend, even if it’s not in a D49 school. District 20 officials said at this time, they are not offering free meals outside the regular school year.
