Coroner identifies suspect killed in officer-involved shooting in Pueblo

The Pueblo County Coroner identified a suspect who was killed in an officer-involved shooting on Tuesday afternoon.

PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - The Pueblo County Coroner identified a suspect who was killed in an officer-involved shooting on Tuesday afternoon.

The Pueblo Police Department was on scene at an address in the 10 block of Glenroyal Drive, near Northern Avenue and Pueblo Boulevard on the southwest side of the city, around 11:44 a.m. Police said the suspect was making threats to harm his family members.

Police said the suspect pointed a gun at officers, and after ordering the suspect to drop his weapon, an officer fired at the suspect.

According to police, the suspect died at the scene of the shooting.

The suspect was identified by the coroner as 54-year-old John Michael Jesse of Pueblo.

Officials told 11 News crews on scene that no officers were injured in that shooting.

The 10th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team is investigating the shooting.
