Suspect dead following officer-involved shooting at Pueblo RV park Wednesday

PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - A suspect is dead following an officer involved shooting at an RV park just off of I-25 in Pueblo Wednesday afternoon.

This was occurring near Lake Avenue and Streator Avenue, near I-25 and Pueblo Boulevard.

According to police, they were responding to reports of animal cruelty at around 2 p.m. Officials said the suspect had a warrant for arrest. When they tried to take that suspect into custody, officials said the suspect produced a handgun.

At that point, shots were fired. Police said the suspect was transported to the hospital, where he died.

Two officers have been placed on administrative leave, and the incident is now being investigated by the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office and CBI.
