DUI suspected in crash at US-85 and Academy in Colorado Springs

Colorado State Patrol is investigating a possible DUI crash that involved two vehicles Thursday evening and left one person with life-threatening injuries.
Southbound US-85/87 was closed due to the crash for several hours.
The crash happened at about 7:15 p.m. at S. Academy and US-85/87. The driver of one of those vehicles is suspected of driving while under the influence of alcohol. That person's passenger, a 27-year-old female, is being treated for life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, a 56-year-old man, was seriously injured in the crash. The suspect DUI driver, a 27-year-old man, had minor injuries.
