Heavy, wet snow fell across Southern Colorado Friday morning, setting the stage for a slow commute.

Colorado Springs saw just over an inch of snow fall overnight. More--and heavier--snow fell during the morning commute.

Black Forest recorded 3.5 inches overnight, Manitou had 3.2 inches and 3 inches fell over the Monument area.

The spring storm also caused Fort Carson to be on a two-hour delay. The Air Force Academy was also on a delayed start for non-mission essential personnel.

A few area schools were closed, while one district, Calhan RJ-1, dismissed students early for the day.
