6-Year-Old Suspended From School After Making Finger Into 'Gun'

A 6-year-old was suspended from school after reportedly pointing his finger in the shape of a gun at another student.

Elijah Thurston goes to goes to Stratton Meadows Elementary in Harrison District 2.

His dad told 11 News his son has been in trouble before, but he thinks the school overreacted.

"These are the people that are teaching our kids; these are the people that are going to be showing our kids into the future...I think they could've handled it better," Austin Thurston said.

11 News reached out to the district. The spokesperson said she would not comment on this student's particular case, but she said they take former behavior into account when deciding proper discipline.
