Authorities have identified the person found dead in a parked SUV Sunday night.
The deceased is 28-year-old Dawn Frank of Simla. Her cause of death has not been released, but the El Paso County Sheriff's Office says they are not investigating Frank's death as a homicide or suicide.
Frank's body was found in a SUV parked along the side of the road in Cimarron Hills near Ford and Seneca. That is in the area of Galley and Powers. The sheriff's office says they were called to the neighborhood around 6 p.m. Sunday on a welfare check, and found the body inside the SUV shortly after getting on scene.
Neighbors said the SUV had been sitting on the side of the road for several days.
"It's a white SUV and the window was down about yay far [moves thumb and index finger an inch apart]...that's the way it's been sitting for the last four or five days," Jeff Evans told 11 News. Evans lives near where the location was found, and said the vehicle looked strange to him long before he knew what was inside.
"The way they turned and parked on the shoulder is kind of funny, that's why it made it so suspicious."
Toxicology results are still pending. We'll update this story when those are released.
