The yellow and orange glow can be seen for miles as a large hay fire continues to burn outside La Junta.
There are no reported injuries or evacuations, but the fire is still going strong, hours after it was first reported. The fire started early Friday morning near County Road 35 and County Road JJ. It's unknown how it started.
The fire department says after moving 1,200 bales of hay threatened by the fire--valued at $180,000--they are letting the fire burn and are monitoring it. La Junta and Cheraw firefighters are on scene.
More than $30,000 worth of hay has been lost of the fire.
