Investigators Searching For Man Behind Walmart Bomb Threat

A Fountain, Colo., Walmart was evacuated for a bomb threat on March 16, 2016.

A Walmart was evacuated for almost three hours while law enforcement and bomb-sniffing dogs searched the building for an explosive.

A man called the Walmart in Fountain Wednesday evening claiming there was a bomb inside.

Law enforcement "immediately evacuated the building with employees and citizens," said El Paso County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Natalie Sosa.

Just after 10 p.m., authorities gave the all-clear that no threat was found.

Investigators are now trying to track down who made the threatening call. 11 News has learned detectives do have some leads, and will be looking up phone records.

While authorities are trying to track down who made the bomb threat call, they ask anyone who sees anything suspicious to call law enforcement.

The Walmart is located on the 6300 block of Highway 85-87.
