FedEx Driver Cited With Careless Driving In Deadly Crash

The driver of a FedEx truck has been cited for careless driving in a deadly crash Monday night.

Police say the FedEx truck was turning left onto Palmer Park Boulevard when it was hit by an oncoming AMC Concord. The collision happened around 6:20 p.m. at the intersection of Palmer Park and Fetterman Drive.

Both drivers were hurt and were taken from the scene by ambulance. The driver of the Concord died shortly after getting to the hospital. She has been identified as 26-year-old Kianna Nash of Colorado Springs.

The roads in the area were blocked during the investigation, but reopened around 10:30 p.m.

In addition to a careless driving citation, the FedEx driver was also cited for a stop sign violation. Police say drugs and alcohol are not suspected factors.
