Driver Facing Charges In Deadly Teller County Crash

A 20-year-old Colorado Springs man is facing charges after a crash that killed 35-year-old Jonathon Schrein of Divide.

According to Colorado State Patrol, 20-year-old Preston Wells ran a stop sign and hit Schrein's car.

The accident happened at the intersection of Teller County Road 5 and Teller County Road 51.

Schrein was northbound on TCR 5, making a left-hand turn onto TCR 51 when Wells allegedly failed to stop at the sign and hit Schrein's car.

Schrein was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Wells was not hurt in the crash.

Wells was charged with Careless Driving Causing Death.
