Amber Alert canceled after boy is found safe

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (KKTV) UPDATE (7:20 p.m.): The father is in custody. The child is safe.

PREVIOUS (6/10, 6:50 p.m.): An Amber Alert has been called for a missing 5-year-old boy.

Authorities in Commerce City say Oakleigh Ptak was last seen at a gas station near a car wash at East 77th Avenue and Brighton Road.

Police say they believe the boy was abducted by his father Nicholas Ptak, 27. Ptak then drove quickly from the scene.

The Chevy Trailblazer they are in is registered in South Dakota with plates 7A7750. Police think Ptak may be headed to El Paso County in southern Colorado.

According to authorities, the father was seen taking pictures of the child and then coaxed the boy into his SUV.

Nicholas Ptak was described as wearing a red T-shirt, skinny black shorts, a white baseball hat, and white sunglasses with dark lenses.
