A Larimer County man is now under investigation for first-degree arson and resisting arrest.
Deputies say they responded to a call on Sunday of suspicious activity. When they arrived on scene, they found a man shouting and acting erratically.
Officials say the man started covering himself and items nearby in gasoline. They say he lit himself on fire with a cigarette lighter.
Firefighters put the flames out with fire retardant foam.
The man then tried to run away but was caught and taken into custody.
According to police, the man was taken to the hospital but was not seriously hurt.
