Suspect Arrested For Disfiguring Disabled Man With Tattoos

A mentally disabled adult was given intoxicants and then a variety of unwanted tattoos in November, and now Lamar Police say they’ve arrested someone for the crime.

The victim is described as a mentally disabled male from Granada with the mental culpability of a 4-year-old. Police say that Terry Ausbun, of Oklahoma, intoxicated the victim and then assaulted him with tattoos.

The victim was given permanent tattoos on his right forearm, face and neck. Police say they’ve had a negative impact on his character, and that the family says he’s devastated by the incident. He is frightened and embarrassed to go outside.

Ausbun was arrested for investigation of first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and crimes against an at-risk adult. He is being held at the Prowers County Jail on a $20,000 bond.

Detective Dean Gonzales says the conspiracy charge stems from Ausbun influencing a 13-year-old girl, who was involved the tattooing.
