Pueblo, Colo. - The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's soccer team continues its tough schedule to begin Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play this week when they travel and take on No. 9 Colorado School of Mines Friday and Sunday against an up-and-coming Colorado Christian University team.
When the Pack takes to the pitch Friday at Mines, it will mark the second consecutive Friday the ThunderWolves will face a top-ten opponent.
CSU-Pueblo is coming off a 1-1 home week to start RMAC play. Friday the Pack was tripped up 2-1 against No. 2 UCCS and rebounded Sunday with a 2-1 win against MSU Denver.
Against UCCS, Madison Jepperson (Jr., Cottonwood Heights, UT) scored the lone goal for the ThunderWolves. The Pack defense held the strong Mountain Lion offense in check during the second half to keep in striking distance throughout the match.
Sunday in a matinee match against MSU Denver, striker Justine Martinez (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.) recorded two goals just two minutes apart in the first half which proved as the difference in the one-goal Pack win.
In Sight for the Pack
CSU-Pueblo will open a three-game homestand and take on New Mexico Highlands (Oct. 6), Black Hills State (Oct. 11), and Regis (Oct. 13).
