Thirayatorn tied for 1st, Pack Women 2nd at RMAC Championships

CHANDLER, Ariz. Orakorn Thirayatorn is tied for first and Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Golf holds second place after the first day of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships at the Ocatillo Golf Course.

The Pack shot a +19 (307) Sunday, sufficient for second place in the 13-team field. CSU-Pueblo sits one stroke back of first place Dixie State University. The ThunderWolves hold a five-stroke lead on third place Colorado Christian University.

Thirayatorn (Sr., Meang Khonkaen, Thailand) carded a +1 (73). She shares first place. Thirayatorn shot 15 pars in 18 holes.

Jolene Kam (Sr., Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia) posted a +4 (76). Kam holds seventh place for the Pack.

Rachanok Rahulpan (Sr., Pathumthani, Thailand) finished the first day with a +6 (78). Rahulpan made a par on nine of her last 10 shots. She will begin day two in 16th place.

Courtney Ewing (Sr., Pueblo West, Colo.) carded a +8 (80). Ewing shares 22nd place.

Amy Sutheran (Fr., Hartlepool, Durahm, England UK) holds 35th place. Sutheran shot a +11 (83).

The Pack Men's Golf team ranks eighth with +15 (299). They rank 22 shots behind first place Colorado School of Mines.

Roy Carlsen (Sr., Arvada, Colo.) carded an even par 71 on day one. Carlsen leads the Pack with a 14th place showing on day one. He had three birdies on day one.

Fraser Hughes (Sr., Newton Stewart, Scotland, UK) holds 21st placein the 50 golfer field. Hughes shot a +2 (73). He also made three birdies.

Sam Barthram (So., Weybridge, England, UK) carded a +6 (77). Barthram holds 35th place. He sank an eagle on the 11th hole.

Nathan McCann (So., Lurgan Armagh, Ireland) wrapped up day one with a +7 (78). McCann holds 42nd place.

Matthew McCulloch (Jr., Stranraer, Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland, UK) carded a +8 (79). He ranks 47th.

Both teams will compete on day two of the RMAC Championships Monday. The three-day event will conclude Tuesday.
