Spings Volleyball Star making Olympic Push for 2020 Games

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. Emily Stockman travels the world competing for team USA on the sand volleyball circuit but Saturday she was back where her love for the sport all started.

Stockman went to Doherty High School and played club Volleyball for Colorado Juniors. She stopped by her old stomping grounds to help inspire the next generation of volleyball stars. She says it feels like yesterday when she was playing on the same courts.

"It's very surreal. Most days, traveling the world, I'm in China this week and I am going to be in Brazil next week...it's so surreal." said Stockman.

Stockman and her partner are currently ranked 12th in the world and 3rd in the United States. The top 2 pairs will represent team USA at the 2020 Olympic games in Tokyo so Stockman says that is her goal for 2019-2020.

"Putting on a USA jersey, even now after doing it for three or four years, still every time I put that USA jersey on, I can't even describe the feeling. it's so exciting. The goal is to get a gold medal at the Olympics so that's what we're shooting for and when it comes true, it's going to be amazing. I can already see us standing on the podium." Stockman said.
