Report: Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips signs with the Rams

DENVER (KKTV) - Soon after the Denver Broncos announced a new head coach, news broke that defensive coordinator Wade Phillips is likely leaving the Mile High City.

ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted out Thursday evening that 69-year-old Phillips has agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Rams. Schefter cited an anonymous source.

Phillips was with the Broncos over the last two seasons and helped the team with their Super Bowl 50 victory.

Phillips will serve under new Rams' head coach Sean McVay as the defensive coordinator according to Schefter.

Just last week, Phillips posted to Twitter that he hoped to stay with the Broncos after former head coach Gary Kubiak announced he was leaving the team.

On Friday morning, Phillips tweeted that he will miss the team.
