MONUMENT, Colo. - The Palmer Ridge Bears jumped out to a 49-0 halftime lead against Holy Family Friday from Don Breese Saturday, eventually eliminating the Tigers by a 63-7 final score in the CHSAA 3A state playoff opener.

The 4th-seeded Tigers were led by the arm of junior QB Luke Mcallister, who threw for a pair of touchdowns in the first quarter. Mcallister found Anthony Roberson from 12 yards and Anthony Costanzo from 31 yards in the Bears opening two possessions of the game. The #13 Tigers threw an interception inside their own 10-yard line in the second quarter, allowing an easy 4-yard scamper from Bears running back Raef Ruel to push the lead to 21-0.

With the win, the Bears advance to the quarterfinals of the 3A bracket for the third consecutive season. They will host the winner of Saturday's game between Conifer and Fort Morgan
