Pack earns 8-seed in RMAC Tournament, will face top-seed Colorado Mesa Thursday

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. After a two-year hiatus from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament, the Colorado State University-Pueblo softball team secured its spot in this year's tournament and will be the 8-seed and the Pack will face off against top-seed and regular season champion, No. 11 Colorado Mesa University, Thursday at 3:15 p.m. at CMU Softball Field in Grand Junction, Colo.

The Pack clinched their spot in the tournament for the 17th time in program history Saturday, the last day of the regular season, after earning a split at Colorado School of Mines. The pitching staff for the ThunderWolves carried the team after they limited the Orediggers' potent lineup.

In other games around the tournament, Colorado Christian earned the 2-seed and will play 7-seeded Regis University. The third-seed belongs to Dixie State who will face off against the six-seeded UCCS. The fourth seed went to Colorado School of Mines and they will take on five-seed MSU Denver.

For the Pack this season, Michaela Burpee (Sr., Union City, Calif.) leads the team in batting with a .366 mark. Gabby Moreno (Jr., Scottsdale, Ariz.) has posted a team-high 47 hits on the season.

In the circle, freshman Taylor Strupp (San Tan Valley, Ariz.) has foud her stride as of late and holds a 7-14 record. Fellow hurler Hannah Anderson (R-Jr., Spokane, Wash.) who picked up the two wins over the weekend, has a 3-4 record and 3.72 ERA.
