COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. The Denver Nuggets first official practice of the season is now in the books.
The team kicked off 2019 Training Camp at the Olympic Training Center Tuesday in Colorado Springs.

The Nuggets know that after last years playoff run, they aren't sneaking up on anyone this season. They have big expectations for the year ahead.

"We are a championship contending team and that's the mentality we're going to have. I don't care what anybody says. We are going to go through our mistakes, our ups and downs but we are going to stay together." said point Guard Jamal Murray.

Last seasons game 7 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers has served as motivation all off-season. Head Coach Mike Malone even showed the team the tape again the night before training camp started.

"We want to be a really good team and go further than the second round. I know we have to get back to the playoffs first, it's not going to be a walk in the park. We have to have a good start with four of six road games to start the season so we have to come out strong." Murray said.

The Nuggets open the NBA preseason on the road at Portland, Tuesday October 8th.
