La Junta wins 2A Football State Title

PUEBLO, Colo. The La Junta Tigers beat Platte Valley 7-3 Saturday to win the 2A State Title. It was the Tigers 2nd state championship in the last 3 years.

"I am so proud to be a tiger, this community is awesome, we packed the stands and everything. They were so loud throughout all teh ups and downs throughout the game, it was just amazing. We're number one and I love it, I love the feeling." said Senior James Waddles.

Senior quarterback Jon Nuschy took home the games MVP award.

"This is amazing it is the best feeling in the world. We came out and we battled and we did it for La Junta and for all the haters that said we'd never do it, we did it today and we are champions once again." Nuschy said.

La Junta was able to keep their perfect record in tact and finishes the season 13-0.
