COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (October 23, 2018) – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released its annual Preseason Coaches Poll Tuesday and Colorado State University – Pueblo Women's Basketball was voted to finish in a tie for fourth.

Lauren Heyn (Sr., Penryn, Calif.) earned Preseason All-RMAC honors from the RMAC Coaches. Heyn claimed Second Team All-RMAC honors in 2017-18. This was Heyn's first career All-RMAC selection.

Heyn averaged a career-best 9.1 points per game as a junior. She also secured a career-high 7.0 rebounds per game, 10th most in the RMAC.

Entering the 2018-19 campaign, Heyn ranks 11th all-time at CSU-Pueblo with 549 career rebounds. She is also sixth in career blocks with 86 rejections.

Heyn is one of just four returners for the Pack and the lone starter back in the fold. Jennah Knafelc (Sr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.), Khiya Adams (Jr., Falcon, Colo.), and Jade Adams (So., Falcon, Colo.) all return for the Pack. Knafelc made 36.7 percent from downtown last season.

The ThunderWolves won both the RMAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships last season. It was the first time in school history that the Pack claimed both Championships in the same season.

In Head Coach Curtis Loyd's first season, the Pack went 25-7 with a 20-2 record in RMAC games. The Pack advanced to the NCAA D-II South Central Regional for the fifth consecutive season.

CSU-Pueblo has not finished lower than fourth since 2012-13. They are voted to share fourth this season with Colorado School of Mines.

This year, the Pack will welcome 10 newcomers to the team. Three freshmen will make their Pack debuts this season. Junior transfers Nadirah Oakman (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Naomi Torgerson (Anoka, Minn.) both averaged over 13 points per game last season. Oakman was a Junior College All-American last season.

Pack Women's Basketball will begin its 2018-19 campaign Friday Nov. 9 against Texas A&M University Commerce in Lubbock, Texas. The ThunderWolves will host their home opener Friday Nov. 16 when Montana Western University comes to Massari Arena for the Al Kaly Shrine Classic.
