SEATTLE Broncos quarterback, Joe Flacco, made his his preseason debut Thursday night against the Seattle Seahawks. He led a 12-play scoring drive that ended in a field goal. It was his only series of the night.
Flacco said, “There's nothing quite like the feeling of playing in an NFL football game. You get that adrenaline rush, you get to go through the first part of warm up, get out there and go through a series—it felt good.”
With only a few weeks to get to know this new offense the Broncos are slowly but surly beginning to figure out their new team. Aside from training camp and the work put in during the off season, these preseason games have been crucial from the Broncos to find their momentum.
“I think we have the parts that make it work," Flacco said. "I think that if we can run the ball well and physical, the way our line is doing it, the way our backs are doing it right now—the kinds of backs that we have—I think it's going to open up a lot of things for the type of talent that we have on the outside. So, I think that everything that we have compliments each other really nicely and guys are buying into it.”
The Broncos are used to change when it comes to the quarterback position but for Flacco, he is jumping into the new role with ease.
“It's kind of a cool experience, to be honest with you," Flacco said. "I haven’t had to deal with [being a leader coming from another team] since I've been in college, going into a new team in the NFL, but's it's a cool experience to be on a new team—new guys, kind of trying to mold those guys and get those guys to do what you want and at the same time let them teach you some things and react to them. It's been a lot of fun for me.”
