USAF Academy, Colo. Emily Conroe dropped 13 points and snagged 13 rebounds to lead Air Force to a 75-66 victory over San Diego State (6-12, 1-6 MWC), Wednesday evening in Clune Arena. The Falcons, who are on a two-game win-streak, improve to 8-12 with a 4-5 mark in MWC action.
Four Falcons scored in the double-figures, but it was Conroe who quietly led the charge with her first double-double of the season. Conrore also added two assists, two blocks and two steals to her stat line.
Sophomore co-team captain Kaelin Immel led the game with 16 points while also adding four rebounds, two steals and an assist to her stat count. She shot a perfect 7-7 from the free-throw line.
The Falcon freshmen are proving to be trouble for MWC opponents as three of them combined for 33 points, 12 rebounds and five steals. Haley Jones had a strong performance, scoring 12 points and collecting five rebounds. Jones shot 5-6 from the field on the game. Snyder, who has the most double-figure scoring games of any freshman, led the fourth-classmen with 15 points. She also added four rebounds to her stat line. Briana Autrey recorded eight points, three assists and three steals.
The Aztecs were led by Mallory Adams with 15 points. Air Force out-shot the Aztecs, 48.1 percent to 39.8 percent, and collected two more rebounds, 37-55. Air Force's bench was good for 11 points while the Aztecs' bench produced 20.
Next up, Air Force and Colorado State will have their second meeting of the season, 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 2, in Moby Arena (8,745), Fort Collins, Colorado. The Falcons downed the Rams, 63-48, in the first meeting of the season at USAFA.
