Charlie Blackmon rejoins Rockies after injury

The Colorado Rockies announced Friday that they have reinstated outfielder Charlie Blackmon (right calf strain) and right-handed pitcher Wade Davis (left oblique strain) from the 10-day injured list. Additionally, the Rockies have optioned infielder/outfielder Garrett Hampson to Triple-A Albuquerque and have designated left-handed pitcher Chris Rusin for assignment.

Blackmon, 32, was placed on the injured list on May 27 with a right calf strain … played in two rehab games with Triple-A Albuquerque Wednesday and Thursday, going 2-for-7 with two strikeouts is batting .300 (60-for-200) with 35 runs, 13 doubles, five triples, 10 home runs, 31 RBI, 14 walks and two stolen bases in 46 games with the Rockies this season has an active 18-game on-base streak that is the third-longest active streak in the NL in 966 career games with the Rockies since making his Major League debut in 2011, has batted .302 (1122-for-3712) with 636 runs, 198 doubles, 45 triples, 150 home runs, 456 RBI, 272 walks, 693 strikeouts and 129 stolen bases.

Davis, 33, was placed on the injured list on May 22 with a left oblique strain, his first stint on the injured list since 2016 in his second season with Colorado, has gone 1-1 with seven saves, a 2.45 ERA (14.2 IP, 4 ER), 10 walks and 18 strikeouts has not allowed a home run this season, and his 32.2-inning streak without a home run allowed dating back to Aug. 12 of last season is the fifth-longest active streak in the National League signed a three-year contract with Colorado on Dec. 29, 2017, and has gone 4-7 with 50 saves, a 3.83 ERA (80.0 IP, 34 ER), 36 walks and 96 strikeouts over 86 relief appearances since signing with the Rockies his 43 saves in 2018 led the National League and were a new single-season franchise record.
