COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Oct. 23, 2018) - Coming off a successful first season with the Colorado State University-Pueblo men's basketball team, redshirt-junior Jason Anderson (Colorado Springs, Colo.) has been selected as Preseason All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, in an announcement by the league office Tuesday.
The ThunderWolves were selected to finish ninth in the RMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, as the Pack compiled 109 points. Regis University totaled eight first-place votes and 216 points to earn the top spot in the poll.
Last season CSU-Pueblo finished 11th in the league standings with a 9-13 record. The Pack were 12-16 overall, while the story of the season was their 1-8 record in games decided by five points or less. Anderson was named All-RMAC Second Team, while Will Newman was first team and Josh Smith was honorable mention in their final seasons.

All-RMAC Second Team ... RMAC Offensive Player of the Week (Dec. 18) following his debut weekend where he averaged 26.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game and shot 76.7 percent from the field ... Played in 18 games ... Led the team in rebounds per game with 6.6 (118 rebounds was third on the team) ... Averaged 14.5 points per game for the second most on the squad ... Blocked 25 shots to rank second on the team ... Shot the ball at an even 50 percent from the field ... Averaged 24.3 minutes per game ... Totaled seven or more rebounds in 11 games ... Surpassed 20 points in a game on five occasions, which included 36 points against Western State (Dec. 16) ... Recorded a double-double in his first game with the Pack, a 16-point, 10-rebound performance at Colorado Mesa (Dec. 15) ... CoSIDA Academic All-District ... RMAC Academic Player of the Year ... Academic All-RMAC First Team.
The ThunderWolves have eight players who logged minutes last season back for 2018-19, which includes three starters. In addition to Anderson, Donovan Oldham (R-Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Gavin Liggett (R-Sr., Limon, Colo.) return after starting last season. Head Coach Ralph Turner is back for his eighth season as the Pack bench boss.
CSU-Pueblo will battle Colorado State University Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. in an exhibition game in Fort Collins, Colorado. The season opens Nov. 9-10 at the Conference Crossover in Wichita Falls, Texas. The ThunderWolves will play Arkansas-Fort Smith (4 p.m. MT) and Rogers State (5 p.m. MT). The home portion of the schedule will begin Nov. 16-17 with the 35th Annual Al Kaly Shrine Classic. The Pack will play at 7 p.m. both evenings against MSU Texas and Wayland Baptist, respectively.
