ENGLEWOOD, Colo. The Denver Broncos on Tuesday signed punter Justin Vogel and waived kicker Taylor Bertolet, it was announced.
Vogel (6-5, 220 pounds) is a second-year player who punted 71 times for 3,155 yards (44.4 avg. / 41.6 net) with 19 placed inside the 20-yard line as a rookie with Green Bay in 2017. Signed by the Packers as a college free agent from the University of Miami, Vogel spent training camp with Cleveland in 2018 and part of the offseason program with San Francisco in 2019.
In three seasons at Miami (2014-16), Vogel punted 183 times for 7,876 yards (43.0 avg.). He received second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors as a senior after averaging a career-best 43.8 yards on punts.
Vogel was born on Oct. 14, 1993, in Tampa, Fla. He will wear No. 1.
