Broncos sign ILB Alexander Johnson and RB Khalfani Muhammad to practice squad

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos signed inside linebacker Alexander Johnson and running back Khalfani Muhammad to their practice squad, it was announced on Monday.

Additionally, practice-squad running back Jeremy McNichols was signed to Tennessee’s active roster on Monday.

Johnson (6-2, 243 pounds) is a rookie linebacker from the University of Tennessee who spent the first 11 weeks of the regular season on Denver’s active roster. A three-time All-Southeastern Conference selection at Tennessee from 2011-14, he finished his collegiate career as the Volunteers’ second all-time leading tackler (425 tackles w/218 solo).

Johnson was born on Dec. 24, 1991. He will wear No. 45.

Muhammad (5-7, 174 pounds) is a second-year running back who competed in training camp with New England in 2018 after spending his initial NFL season on both Tennessee’s active roster and practice squad. Selected by the Titans in the seventh round (241st overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft, Muhammad rushed for 2,073 yards with 11 touchdowns on 359 carries (5.8 avg.) in four seasons at the University of California.

Born on Sept. 26, 1994, Muhammad will wear No. 33.
