DENVER — Broncos Stadium at Mile High will host the 2019 Concacaf (Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football) Gold Cup’s second matchday of Group A play on Wednesday, June 19, it was announced on Tuesday.
This will be the third time Denver has hosted Gold Cup matches. In 2017, close to 50,000 people attended a Gold Cup Group Stage doubleheader featuring Mexico vs. Jamaica and El Salvador vs. Curacao.
Group A play will be highlighted by Mexico, one of the four highest ranked nations based on the Concacaf Rankings Index that has already been seeded for the 2019 Gold Cup.
Fans can now visit www.GoldCup.org to sign up for an exclusive pre-sale offering for any Gold Cup gameday before seats go on sale to the general public. Tickets for the 2019 Gold Cup will go on sale to the public on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m. MDT.
The complete groups and schedule will be announced early next year, once all nations have qualified for the Gold Cup via the Concacaf Nations League Qualifier. The 2019 Gold Cup Final will be played Sunday, July 7, at Soldier Field in Chicago.
Taking place every two years, the Concacaf Gold Cup is the official national team championship of the region, which includes North and Central America and the Caribbean. Drawing large crowds and millions of television viewers across the region, the Gold Cup is a celebration of soccer, sportsmanship and culture.
The tournament will be broadcast nationally on the Univision and FOX family of networks and transmitted on radio in Spanish by Fútbol de Primera Radio Network, and broadcast by television partners in countries around the world.
To date, the six national teams that participated in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Hexagonal qualifier round—Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, and the United States—have automatically qualified to the Gold Cup.
The 10 additional participating nations in the 2019 Gold Cup will qualify through Concacaf Nations League Qualifier competition to be played in September, October and November 2018 as well as March 2019.
