ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (Denver Broncos Release) - Denver Broncos outside linebacker Bradley Chubb was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month, the NFL informed the Broncos on Thursday.

Chubb joins outside linebacker Von Miller (Nov., 2011) and inside linebacker D.J. Williams (Dec., 2004) as the only Broncos to win the award.

In five October starts, Chubb totaled 16 tackles (12 solo), 5.5 sacks (33 yds.), five tackles for a loss, 13 pressures, eight quarterback hits, one forced fumble and one pass defensed. His 5.5 sacks led the Broncos in October and ranked third among all NFL players, trailing only Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald (8.0) and Chiefs outside linebacker Dee Ford (6.0).

Chubb ended the month of October on a three-game sack streak and is one of just seven rookies (since 1982) to record at least 5.5 sacks in a three-game span (first since 49ers outside linebacker Aldon Smith in 2011, Games 12-14).
