COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. Air Force senior offensive lineman Griffin Landrum and sophomore defensive lineman Jordan Jackson were each named to the second-team all-Mountain West football team, according to an announcement today from the league office. Junior defensive back Jeremy Fejedelem was an honorable mention selection.
Landrum helped anchor an offensive line that led the Falcons to the conference rushing title and No. 4 national ranking in rushing with a 283.5 average. Air Force rushed for 350-plus yards in each of the last three games, including a season-best 478 yards vs. New Mexico. The Falcons led the conference and rank sixth nationally in time of possession with a 34:22 mark. Air Force led the MW in red zone offense with a 91.3 percentage.
Jackson is the first sophomore to earn all-conference honors since Weston Steelhammer was named first-team all-MW in 2014. Jackson recorded 54 total tackles and led the Falcons with 12.5 tackles for loss for 60 yards and 4.5 sacks for 32 yards. He ranked seventh in the MW in tackles for loss with a 1.04 average per game. Jackson had at least one tackle for loss in eight of 12 games this season, including a career-best 3.5 vs. Navy which was the most by a Falcon this season.
Fejedelem led the Falcons in tackles with 104 which ranked eighth in the conference. He is the first Falcon with 100-plus tackles in a season since Jordan Pierce had 117 in 2014 and first defensive back with the milestone since Chris Thomas had 107 in 2008. Fejedelem led the Falcons with three interceptions and with six games of 10 or more tackles this season.
Air Force finished the season 5-7 overall and placed fourth in the MW Mountain Division with a 3-5 mark. The Falcons closed the season winning two of their last three games, including a 27-19 victory over in-state rival Colorado State on Thanksgiving Day to win the season finale for a third straight season.
