Air Force hockey welcomes 12 members in the Class of 2023

Colorado Springs, Colo. The Air Force hockey team is proud to welcome 12 members of the Class of 2023, as announced by head coach Frank Serratore. The class arrived at the Academy on June 27 for in-processing and just completed Basic Cadet Training. The Falcons open the season with an exhibition game Sunday, Oct. 6, against Trinity Western University, at 5:05 pm MT at Cadet Ice Arena.

12, Blake Bride, F, 5-10, 165, Broomfield, CO, Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL)
Played in 164 regular-season games of junior hockey. Played in 47 games for the Boston Jr. Rangers (EHL) and had 42 points (13-29-42) in 2016-17. In 2017-18, played in 49 games with the Odessa Jackalopes and was third on the team with 47 points (22-25-47). Also had three-power play goals, a game-winner and a shortie. Scored two points in three playoff games. In 2018-19, played 62 games with the Sioux Falls Stampede and helped lead the team to the USHL Clark Cup championship. Team captain, Tied for sixth on the team with 16 goals and finished with 34 points (16-18-34). Had two game-winners, two shorties and one power-play goal. Fourth on the team with seven points (2-5-7) in 12 playoff games, including two game-winners.

20, Brandon Koch, D, 6-0, 175, Hastings, MN, Wenatchee Wild (BCHL)
Played 117 regular-season games of junior hockey ... Spent the 2017-18 season with the Coulee Region Chill of the NAHL ... Played 59 games and was the top scoring defenseman, second overall, with 44 points (7-37-44) ... In 2017-18, was named to the NAHL All-Midwest Division Rookie Team, the NAHL All-Midwest Division Team, the NAHL All-Rookie First Team and was a Second All-Star Team … Three power-play goals ... Played 58 games for the Wenatchee Wild of the BCHL in 2018-19 and had 38 points (8-30-38) ... Sixth on the team in points and second among the defensemen ... Played in 18 playoff games and had seven points (4-3-7) ... Brother of Matt Koch, a 2019 Academy graduate, four-year hockey letterwinner as a defenseman, team captain and leading scorer of the 2018-19 team.

2, Andrew Kruse, D, 5-11, 185, Delano, MN, Minnesota Magicians (NAHL)
Played 111 regular-season games of junior hockey over two seasons with the Minnesota Magicians of the NAHL ... In 2017-18, played in 53 games and had 11 points (2-9-11) ... In 2018-19, played in 58 games and was the team's top scoring defenseman with 41 points, tied for third overall, (7-34-41) ... Second on the team in assists … One short-handed goal and one game-winner … Had three assists in seven playoff games … Named to the 2018-2019 NAHL All-Midwest Division Team … Assistant captain.

13, Keenan Lund, F, 5-11, 185, Sartell, MN, Minot Minotauros (NAHL)
Played 100 regular-season games of junior hockey with the Minot Minotauros of the NAHL ... In 2017-18, played 46 games and had 18 points (8-10-18) ... Had five points (2-3-5) in 12 playoff games ... Helped lead the team to the Robertson Cup championship game ... In 2018-19, played in 54 games and was second on the team with 49 points (18-31-49) … Led the team in assists ... Three power-play goals, three game-winners and one shortie.

19, Luke Manning, F, 5-10, 180, Stillwater, MN, Des Moines Buccaneers (USHL)
Played in 113 regular-season games over two seasons with the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL ... In 2017-18, played in 58 games and had eight points (4-4-8) ... Played in 55 games in 2018-19, and had 23 points (10-13-23) with one power-play goal and one game-winner ... Three points (1-2-3) in five playoff games.

15, Bennett Norlin, F, 6-2, 190, Farmington, MN, West Kelowna Warriors (BCHL)
Played 98 regular-season games of junior hockey for the West Kelowna Warriors of the BCHL … In 2017-18, played in 40 games and had 11 points (5-6-11) ... In 2018-19, played in 58 games and had 34 points (22-12-34) ... His 22 goals were fourth on the team ... Played in seven playoff games and had two points (1-1-2).

41, Austin Park, G, 5-11, 170, Highlands Ranch, CO, Wenatchee Wild (BCHL)
Played 88 regular-season games of junior hockey ... Played 22 games for the Minot Minotauros of the NAHL in 2016-17 … Had a 2.16 GAA and a .927 saves percentage with a 15-4-0 record ... Made 568 saves that season with two shutouts ... Named to the 2016-17 NAHL All-Central Division Rookie Team … In 2017-18, played in 25 games for the Wenatchee Wild of the BCHL and helped lead the team to the BCHL and Doyle Cup championships ... Had a 2.78 GAA and a .887 saves percentage ... Played in 19 of the 20 playoffs games and had a 15-4 record with a .905 saves percentage and a 2.20 GAA with two shutouts ... In 2018-19, played in 41 games and had a 2.92 GAA and an .878 saves percentage with two shutouts ... Played in 17 playoff games and had an 8-5 record with a .897 saves percentage and a 2.92 GAA.

18, Ty Pochipinski, F, 5-9, 170, Colorado Springs, CO, Penticton Vees (BCHL)
Played in 133 regular-season games of junior hockey in the BCHL ... In 2016-17, played in 57 games for the Cowichan Valley Capitals (BCHL) and had 11 points (5-6-11) ... In 2017-18, played in 58 games for the Capitals and was second on the team with 38 points (21-7-38) ... Led the team with 21 goals and nine power-play goals … Also had a game-winner and a shortie ... Enrolled at Colorado College prior to the 2018-19 season and played in four games with the Tigers, scoring a goal against New Hampshire ... Returned to the BCHL for the remainder of the 2018-19 season, playing for the Penticton Vees ... Played 18 games and had five points (3-2-5) ... Also played three playoff games.

In 2017-18, played in 52 games and had 27 points (13-14-27) … Played in three playoff games and had two points (1-1-2) ... In 2018-19, played in 57 games and was third on the team with 24 goals and 58 points ... Had four power-play goals and three game-winners ... Played in seven playoff games and had two points (1-1-2).

Played in 31 games with the New Jersey Rockets of the EHL and had five assists in 2015-16 … In 2016-17, played 38 games with the Rockets and had 22 points (8-14-22) … Also played in five games that season with the Ottawa Jr. Senators of the CCHL and had two assists … In 2017-18, played in 30 games with the Rockets and 11 with the Boston Jr. Bruins ... Had 13 points (5-8-13) with the Rockets and four assists with the Bruins ... Played in 153 regular-season games of junior hockey ... Started his junior hockey career in 2015-16 by playing in six games with the South Shore Kings of the USPHL ... In 2016-17, played in 16 games with the Minnesota Wilderness and had five points (2-3-5) … Also played in 25 games that season with the Bismarck Bobcats of the NAHL and had 16 points (12-4-16) ... In 2017-18, played 33 games with the South Shore Kings of the NCDC and had 31 points (17-14-31) ... That same season, played 23 games with the Bobcats and had 16 points (10-6-16) ... Played in 35 games with the Bobcats in 2018-19 and had 19 points (11-8-19) … Also played 15 games with the Corpus Christi IceRays in 2018-19 and had 14 points (8-6-14).

Played in 100 games of junior hockey with the Aberdeen Wings of the NAHL ... Played in 44 games in 2017-18 and had 16 points (4-12-16) ... Was a +16 on the season ... Played in five playoff games and had two assists … In 2018-19, played in 56 games and was the team's top scoring defenseman with 45 points (7-38-45) … His 38 assists were third among all players ... Two short-handed goals, one power-play goal and one game-winner... Played in 12 playoff games and had seven assists ... Was a +33 on the season … Team captain … In 2018-19, was named to the NAHL All-Central Division Team … Helped lead the Wings to the 18-19 NAHL Robertson Cup Championship.
