Air Force freshman Willie Reim Named AHA Rookie of the Week

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. Air Force freshman Willie Reim was named the Atlantic Hockey Association Rookie of the Week in helping lead Air Force to a five-point weekend at Robert Morris, Nov. 22-23.

Reim, a forward from North Oaks, Minn., scored the game-tying goal in the 1-1 overtime tie with Robert Morris, Nov. 23. With Air Force trailing 1-0 with less than four minutes left in the third period of game two, Reim’s goal tied the game and forced overtime. Air Force scored in the 3-on-3 overtime period as the Falcons earned two of the three points in the series finale. In the series, he had three shots on goal and was a +1.

Air Force, 4-7-1 overall and 4-3-1 AHA, is on a five-game unbeaten streak. The Falcons travel to Niagara University for a two-game conference series with the Purple Eagles, Friday-Saturday, Nov. 29-30.
