Junior Nic Ready and senior Tyler Zabojnik of Air Force were named to the 2018 Mountain West Baseball Preseason All-Conference Team, announced by the conference office.
Ready, who was recently named to the 2018 Collegiate Baseball News Pre-Season All-American Team as a second team first baseman, is coming off a sophomore season where he batted .340 with 11 home runs and 53 RBIs. The Dallas, Texas, native is a two-time All-Mountain West honoree and a 2016 Freshman All-American by several publications. Ready ranked amongst the MW Top 10 in nine categories, including sixth in home runs.
Zabojnik is a three-year starter who ranked third in the conference with 178 assists at shortstop in 2017. The Coppell, Texas, native batted .366 with eight homers and 47 RBIs as a junior. Zabojnik has led the Mountain West in doubles each of the past two seasons, hitting 24 in 2016 and 23 in 2017.
The Falcons were picked to finish sixth in the conference in the head coaches poll. New Mexico was picked to win the Mountain West.
Air Force baseball is slated to open the 2018 season Feb. 16 at Hawai’i.
