3A girls basketball state tournament: St. Mary's dominates Warriors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The St. Mary's girls basketball team jumped out to a 37-0 lead against Eagle Ridge Academy Saturday at home, defeating the Warriors 72-19 in the first round of the CHSAA 3A state basketball tournament.

The Pirates (22-1) advance to the Sweet 16, where they will face Jefferson Academy on Saturday.

In the boys bracket, #2 Vanguard (21-2) breezed by Strasburg 63-34 from Wasson High School. The Coursers draw University in their regional final.
