COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A woman was sentenced for her role in the deadly ambush of a teen in Colorado Springs.

The shooting claimed the life of 17-year-old Luis Starkey Chavez on Nov. 5, 2018. Prosecutors say Lizeth Rodriguez and her boyfriend Angel Martinez robbed and killed Chavez. Relatives believe Chavez was targeted because he was pictured showing off money on social media.

Chavez was reportedly lured to a home by Rodriguez. She was sentenced to 27 years on Tuesday after pleading guilty to aggravated robbery with three years of probation.

Martinez was sentenced to 35 years in prison back in December as part of a plea deal, according to 11 News partner The Gazette.
