Woman accused of hitting, kicking officers after disturbance call in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Police said a woman was behind bars on Wednesday after she reportedly "caused a verbal disturbance" and became aggressive towards several people in Colorado Springs.

Officers said the call came in at 3:25 p.m. at a local business on South Academy Boulevard, just north of Hancock Expressway.

The suspect, Jennifer Schoolfield, allegedly hit several people before police arrived at the scene.

When they got there, officers said Schoolfield threw items at police and "struck one of the officers with her fist."

Police were attempting to put the suspect in one of their cruisers, when Schoolfield reportedly kicked another officer.

The suspect was later taken to the Criminal Justice Center. Schoolfield was charged with 2nd Degree Assault on a Peace Officer and 3rd Degree Assault.
