Water outlook good, water restrictions not expected, says Springs Utilities

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado Springs Utilities says the city's water outlook is good, and they are not anticipating water restrictions this year.

"Total system storage is at 71 percent capacity and local storage contains 248 days of demand," Springs Utilities said in a tweet Wednesday.

Springs Utilities says while local storage contains 248 days of demand, they currently have two and half years of demand overall in storage.

If that supply is under a year and half, then Utilities will recommend water shortage measures such as restrictions to Colorado Springs City Council.
