One of the big takeaways from the speech, it still isn't clear where the permanent home for U.S. Space Force will be. The president said Colorado Springs was a strong contender but didn't make a commitment. He announced he would have a decision by the end of the year. For the time being, part of Space Force is stationed at Peterson Air Force Base.

Also speaking publicly at the rally was Sen. Cory Gardner.

"He's got my complete and total support and endorsement," the president said of Gardner. "He will never let you down."

Sen. Gardner is considered one of the most vulnerable Republican senators in the 2020 election.

An area outside of the Broadmoor World Arena was set up for peaceful protestors. Most of the demonstrators remained peaceful, with the exception of eight people who police said, "chose instead to take over the roadway and obstruct traffic at the entrance and exit to the arena." The eight people were cited and released. They were all charged for a violation of Colorado Springs municipal code 9.2.103 Failure to desist or disperse.

"I think everybody's voice should be heard," protester Susanne Wilson told 11 News. "This breaks my heart actually, that everyone is fighting each other. All you have to do is support who you believe in. Do your homework and vote."

According to the president's campaign website, the next rally is scheduled for Friday is Las Vegas.
