Man with nationwide warrant who was living in Monument arrested

MONUMENT, Colo. (KKTV) - UPDATE 2/4/19:
A man wanted on a nationwide warrant who was living in Monument at one point is now behind bars.

11 News partner WIBW is reporting 27-year-old Juan Sebastian De La Vega-King was arrested Monday morning in Topeka, Kansas. He was busted for a traffic violation. When police pulled him over, they could smell marijuana and searched the vehicle. They found two stolen firearms, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

Vega-King was arrested and charged with being a fugitive from justice, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.


Police are hoping for the public's help in tracking down a man with a nationwide extradition warrant.

Photos of Juan Sebastian De La Vega-King were sent out by the Monument Police Department on Thursday. He is considered armed and dangerous. Police were called to a home in the 17000 block of Hulls Way on the south side of the city on Tuesday on a reported theft. Officers learned De La Vega-King has been stealing items including Vicodin. He is reportedly in possession of a stolen revolver and rifle. He also had two body armor vests, one of them he left at the residence.

De La Vega-King’s criminal history shows multiple convictions for felonies including controlled substances, burglary and weapons offenses. These convictions make it illegal for him to possess firearms or body armor.

He is now wanted for possession of weapons by previous offender, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was last seen driving a tan 2000 Nissan Frontier extra cab pickup with Oregon license plate HHVR. It was last seen with a black camper shell that might have two large dinosaur stickers on the truck's tailgate.
