Veterans get free admission to all Colorado state parks Monday
Colorado Parks and Wildlife is thanking veterans for their service by offering free admission to every state park on Monday.
"It's our small but sincere gesture of appreciation for those who have selflessly protected our country," said Colorado Parks and Wildlife Director Dan Prenzlow in a statement. "We want to recognize our brave military members for safeguarding our way of life."
The deal is good for current and former military. Those in the same vehicle as the service member will also have their entry fee waived.
In order to qualify, service members must have their military ID, a Veterans Affairs health identification card, or some other proof of military service.
Camping and fishing fees will still apply.
Service members have plenty of parks to choose from Monday: Colorado boasts 41! For those in and near the Pikes Peak region, that includes Cheyenne Mountain State Park, Mueller State Park, Eleven Mile and Lake Pueblo.
