OKLAHOMA CITY (KKTV) - Two window washers have been rescued from an "out of control" rig that was dangling off a city skyscraper and swinging wildly Wednesday morning.

Oklahoma City firefighters rushed to the Devon Tower around 8 a.m. local time after receiving a 911 call that high winds were swinging a window washing rig like a yo-yo.

"A large basket, believed to have window washers inside, is swinging wildly out of control at the top of the tower. This is a very dangerous situation. Please avoid the area," the fire department tweeted just after getting the call.

The fire department continued tweeting updates from the scene.

Just before 9 a.m. CST, firefighters confirmed they had rescued the two window washers.

The Devon Tower is 50 stories and is the 49th tallest building in the United States.
